Holy guacamole. My backyard potted plants were slowly dying-yellow leaves, sad leaves, falling leaves. After just 1.5 weeks the plants look like the day i brought them home from the nursery. Vibrant green leaves, healthy. These little balls are my new favorite thing! Iām going try to keep plant alive at work and buy another. Hopefully 3rd times a charm. I had seriously given up on keeping real plants before giving these a chance. I always under or over water. Not anymore :)

I have decided that I LOVE these and I am buying more. They can benefit your plants daily or whenever you are away from home.DAILY USE: I have flowers in my window boxes. They really need watering once a day, and it would be better if they were watered twice a day; there's no way I'm ever going to live up to that expectation! The poor things droop in great distress if I ever miss a day of watering. Now I just stick one of these bulbs in each window box (just insert it into the soil beneath the plant at an angle - no need to dig a hole or do anything fancy), and my flowers are happy all the time!!! They don't even suck all that much water from the bulbs; just what they need to keep the soil moist. They're really worth a try. Thank you for this Realitee

These work amazingly well! I bought them for a couple of plants while I was showing my house for sale and not there every day. They did the job, kept the plants alive and blooming, and now I'm using them on the same ones in my new house, so I don't have to water every day. My plants are going crazy, even when we don't have rain for a week. I'm very pleased.
Chris
The globes work great. Personally it's hard figuring out how much water my plants needs and with the globes i put in it has been drinking up all it needs. it was getting brown and dry but now so far its growing again back to normal. And I'm thinking of buying a couple more. I filled it up like in less than 10 seconds.
SusyErnie
I use them when I am out of town and also when I want to apply a slow-release of liquid fertilizer. I think I have over 20 of these. They are very well made. Thanks RealiTee
LOVETHEBEACH21
They work! I'm always iffy about these sort of items but half of them I try really are awesome and I end up loving them! This is another product I love! I have many indoor plants & I was going out of town for a week with nobody to water them. I bought 2 sets of these watering globes and used them while I was gone and they worked! My plants are still alive and the soil is moist. They are also really pretty hand blown glass! I love the colors! I have been using mine for 3 months now & love them!

I have an 18' pot with a big plant that requires constantly moist soil. I water it about once a week.Several times a year, I'll take trips that are over a week. I bought these, to get that plant through. They work wonderfully. I'll water thoroughly and use both of these in the 18' pot. It can go about 2 weeks between watering!
Tiffani
I bought these because I went on a three week trip, and my family wouldnāt foster my orchids because they (wrongly) believe I will snap if my orchids die. That meant I was on my own. I watered my orchids first, then put water in each globe, inserted them in each orchid, and then left my home for 3 weeks. When I returned, my orchids were alive. Only one was a little dry, but they were alive. Iām glad I picked this product because if they had died, I would have snapped!
BriHG24
I was gone 9 days and these kept my outdoor very water thirsty flowers alive, even in the Florida heat. I actually tried these and terra-cotta watering spikes at the same time to see which would work better and all the flowers with the Terra-cotta spikes were dead when I came back, but the flowers had these looked as good as ever. I will definitely be purchasing more of these!
stephanie j rodriguez
I bought two of these to water my plants while I was out of town for two weeks. I came home and they were in great shape. Since then, Iāve noticed that the water slowly hydrates over the course of a week (or more) which is perfect for them. Iām not sure how they work on more delicate plants, though. I have hardy peace lilies.

I absolutely love these Aqua Globes! They are beautiful works of art, and work great. I'm not sure why other folks are having trouble with them, but I followed the directions and they work great for me. They're simple! Just make a small hole in the soil, fill the globe (easy to fill) and put in soil... that's it! I use them on my house plants, and they work just like they're supposed to: they gradually water my plants and keep them happy. As oxygen is released into the globe from the soil, water is released (very slowly) into the soil of the plant. And I love see the sunlight filter through the globes! Beautiful AND functional!!
Kathy J. Wade
love these. have used them for years on my plants. i haven't drowned a plant in years
sugeor
i bought these for a friend after she admired mine which I love. Friend called to tell me 'Thanks' and that this is 'best thing ever' for her pansies!
Applelover
The globes are very beautiful. I used the smaller ones from Aqua Globes for five years. This time I order the big ones. Good and sturdy. The product description page said 4 globes per order but I actually received 2. Not sure different seller would send 4 globes. Buyer beware.
Rose Tyler
Always thought this was some as seen on tv scam but they work and are super convenient!
Carol Lugg
I bought these after I had purchased the smaller globes, and knew I needed some of the larger ones for my larger plants. I was really pleased with the price on both the smaller and the larger globes. I couldn't find them at these prices anywhere local. I think they are kind of pretty, and they work! I find I only have to refill them about every 3 or 4 days. What more can I say? Try them out, I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
Rachel
These really work. Put water in, stick them in your plants, and just check occasionally to see if they need refilling. The photo of the product shows one royal blue-ish and one that looks more aqua. My box had two royal blue ones which was fine with me since I prefer that to aqua. But just FYI in case you want one of each, you may be getting 2 royal blue like I did.
Trish
have used these bulb for years; just be careful inserting/removing--use on an angle--useful to use a bamboo stick or something similar to create the 'tunnel' in the soil so there is a pre-formed path for the glass stem to follow.
Kyle
A simple little device that works perfectly.
Terese
Beautiful in your potted plants. works great too.
Alex Freeman
I keep plants around the house to help keep the air clean and healthy (humans are built to live with plants), but with my work life balance, I some times neglect these household helpers. With these bulbs I can easily see how much water is left and know that my green friends are being taken care of. The box comes with two bulbs (but they are packaged in styrofoam holders :[ )There are no problems with this product, it does exactly what it's supposed to do.
biff101
I am the lazy gardner! I love these because I can fill them with water, put them in my pots and water my plants and not have to worry about it for at least a week depending on how dry it is. I recommend getting these for any indoor plants.
Kaela Swinson
Works great! My plants love their aqua globes!
jkinshella
Love these for my hanging plants...
L O
I was a little skeptical about these (as I am of many 'as seen on TV' items), but they work. I can go a couple of weeks before needing to be refilled.I'm terrible at remembering to water my houseplants, so these are a (plant)life-saver!
Moose
Keeping the hard to watch plants watered.
Diane E. Ward
Although a little hard to fill up .... it is great to fill and forget the plants. Be careful though if the plant is not in a study container the water globe can be top heavy and fall over. I have one plant that was okay but was on a stand on the front porch -- wind blew it over and the bulb broke.... Caution is required if you have pets or kids. Otherwise does what it is mean to do deliver water when you forget ....
Playerblanco
These worked like a charm!Left for 8 days, and weather was reaching over 100 degs, and ALL plants survived. My wife was happy, I was happier.
Rachel
These were pretty much what I expected after watching the infomercials. The glass is thicker than I thought it would be - I had worried that they would be frail and I'd be cleaning up broken glass when my boys ran by and knocked them over - but they are pretty sturdy. The stem is long - I have a few small plants that I hoped to use these in and the stem is just too long, it hits the bottom of the pot, so I think I need to get some of the minis too.Overall - glad I got them!
Amazon Customer
Left for 15 days used the large and small and all of my plants were watered! I know they worked properly because my smallest pant had water left and used only when it is was needed.
Rose Black
Aqua Globes are great for extended plant watering.. Must take care with inserting tips into plants as it is very easy to break the glass tip
Red Celt
I don't recommend these for planter boxes (which is what I initially bought them for), because they only last 2 days. I do intend to use them over the winter on the plants I have to bring inside, though.
Krista Parker
Thank you so much for replying to my email. You guys are the best and keep my plants alive!! I am more that happy to do business with you!!! Thank you!!!!ā
txjaybird
These are useful as backup water supply in hot dry months or when out of town. Still have to water, but supplies some extra water between waterings and you can also tell when the plant needs water. Flaws are that they are tedious to fill--have to use a very low water stream bc of the thin neck--and they break easily. Sometimes the stem breaks off in the soil.
R. K. Ricca
They are a great supplement to summer watering, but nothing more.
Saving Grace
Love these!! Some of the holes are smaller than others, which can make them slower to fill. But minor flaw to what a life saver these are - literally. I basically live in the desert, and my plants are very grateful for these!
rsm220
What a great idea!!!! I always had a tendency to over water, problem solved!!!! I read many reviews before buying , but even the complaints seemed minute !! im glad i got them, ive had the same issues as many others ,and like someone else said, there is a sort of learning curve!! but once u get used to them , there great!!! I fill mine with a very small funnel , and to those with dirt in the stem , the water will still seep out!!
Greg
I have purchased these before and were broken when I moved. These are outstanding!!!!! Can't go wrong. Glad I have more now.
Kristin Bauer
these seem to work well. I use them on plants at a vacation home that I am sometimes gone from for two weeks. they also are glass and don't look terrible
Nicole
Works exactly as advertised! Went away for a week and was thrilled to see there was still a bit of water left in the globe.
Laurie
This helps with keeping both indoor and outdoor plants watered. I still have to spray them and make sure they are wet. With this, it helps as a backup. It will be great when we go on vacation.
Jenna T.
A dove built a nest in my moms hanging basket preventing her from being able to water it. I got here these and it's working great! She put it on the opposite side of the basket to trying to keep the plant alive and it worked. The Dove is now back with a new set of babies.
Tanique C.
Just received these a few days ago. Theyāre beautiful and at the same time useful. Iāve placed them in a flower bed thatās in a hard to reach location. So far so good, plants are still green and hoping this will help keep them that way
Susan
We have many plants that are hanging up high (log home with high ceiling) and by using these we don't have to take them down every week, we can go every other and that's a huge convenience! I have co-workers who use them at work when they are on vacation and they don't have to hope someone will remember to water their plants. They work great, you just have to remember to use a screwdriver or pencil to make the hole in the dirt for the globe so it doesn't get dirt clogged in when inserting it.
LK
I loved these so much that I bought another set!! Then I bought a set of mini ones! Great product! Just make sure you poke a hole in your dirt before putting these in, otherwise itāll clog the tubing.
ParlorGhost
This really changed my plant game. It has helped keep my indoor plants alive without having to constantly worry about them. The only down side is that they donāt last as long as advertised. I get about 4-5 days max out of them until they need to be refilled.
K. Davis
These are great! Thick, and water my big plant just right. I do not have even a green pinky, and I am really tickled that this bulb is helping me! They are thick, too!
Teri S
I bought the same product at a local shopping mall several years ago. It worked well and I wanted more. I found a similar product at a local hardware store so I bought it. It came with a shorter pipe, and was bigger, sturdier, and prettier but it cost $9.99 per bulb. Then I found this at Amazon for $8 for 2 including S&H (prime eligible). Great price! It arrived on time and in good condition. I gave only 4 stars because compared with the ones I purchased several years ago, the quality seems slightly lower. The glass of my old ones had small particles of red inside and was better looking.
Natalia
I'm really satisfied with this product. I thought I was going to receive 4 individual ones, but it's four boxes containing two of each. I opened all of them and one of them seemed as if it had been broken but the piece was glued back. I filled it with water and it worked fine so I honestly don't mind. They did come in a sketchy bag and they're surprisingly dirty... so I don't know what that's about. Overall, great product so far.
Saveserenity
A little thinner than ones from the stores but nice and large!
Sue
Work very well but need to refill almost everyday if itās outside and hot/dry. I am ok but just be aware.
Rene Tenazas
I had to be out of the house for 2 weeks, so I bought globes for my house plants. They helped the plants survive for that period. My only reservation is that not all globes worked -- some did not release any of the water they contained. I think the problem is that it depends on how much soil gets into the tube. Too much soil probably plugs the opening, but it's hard to tell how much is too much.To be safe, you might want to put 2 globes per plant. That way, if one doesn't release water, the other could keep the plant safe.
Barbara Ward
I have multiple plants in my home and can't always water them timely. These water globes dispenses water as the soil starts to dry and the glass globe shows when they need refilling.
Briana Cameron
I've used these aqua globes for a few years now. In general, they work very well, although they can be really difficult to clean out when dirt gets stuck inside the nozzle. For this reason, I generally only use these when I am leaving on a trip or will be away from my plants for an extended time. Luckily, they are beautifully made and I don't mind having them sit in my plants unused while I'm around to water my plants as needed. Overall, a good purchase, especially for travelers with plants.
warnertv2
I like this product because, as a person afflicted with a black thumb, it makes it easy to water my plants when needed.
Anony
Wow! I received these much earlier than expected. Thanks! Mom of 4. I live downstairs, kids live upstairs. That is where apparently all my green lush plants go to be starved wither & die. I lovingly place goygeous foliage around the house & in their rooms to oxygenate & clean the air they breathe and in return I get to become Dr. Nature Resuscitator 'To the Rescue!' It's a mom's life. The globes help me fight the war of 'it's not my chore'
Mirza
I have been using these things for years and they work great. There are few minor annoyances:1. Glass tip can chip. Expect to replace the globes every fey years.2. Big globes are not stable in small pots3. Dirt can get stuck in the narrow tube but you can fix it with a chopstick. We have been using these things for years and we have not lost a plant since we started using them (used to be regular occurrence)
sallee riegler
These things actually work! But I do have to say, if you live in Texas, don't expect them to last 2 full weeks in the summer. More like 10 days MAX.
Original Larkin
These globes are great, they look nice and are very functional. In reality you should be checking the globes about once a week to see if there is any water left in them and if not you need to refill. They're great to use when you go on vacation, it helps buy you some extra time before your plants wilt and die. These things are also great if you constantly forget to water your plants since you can give them about a weeks supply at once! The product came quickly and the globes are well packed so they were in perfect condition. Those people who say that the water just runs out of them are not inserting them properly (follow the instructions, I use a knife to make a hole for the globe to go into and just shove it in... easy as that!
Mr.&Mrs. Sleepyhead
They do need to have narrow openings so the water doesn't just go rushing out into the plant, but they are so annoyingly hard to fill because of this, that I probably would not buy again. I still gave high rating because they do work and they are attractive. If I had several plants instead of just one, and had a half dozen or more of these, it wouldn't be so bad - they could be easily filled by holding under water in large bucket, but it's not worth the trouble for one or two. They are made of rather thick glass, so aren't as fragile feeling as I feared, but the tip that goes in the dirt does feel a little rough, like it might scratch you if you aren't careful. They have a very handcrafted (in a good way) appearance.
AndoverMinnie
This product is not going to last for weeks unless the plant is not water-loving or water-liking even. Still, it buys a couple of days and if you have a very thirsty type of plant, you're going to need a couple in the pot if it's a big plant, especially if it's outdoors and hot.Bring the plant in if you're going out of town to help things out if possible. The 'pro' on this for sure is most other options are downright ugly and defeat the purpose of having something nice to look at. My plants hide this fairly well.If dirt is plugging the hole and the dirt lateral to that is dry, it will soak the water through the dirt just how the water goes through the rest of the time. I have not had it clog and not let the water out at all, that would be likely against a pebble or something else it that were happening.Fill quickly for me with a steady stream of water the size of the opening or just slightly larger. If you have too fast of water, the air bubbles coming up slow it down, but it's not annoyingly slow.
Linn
These globes are beautiful pieces of art and do help with letting me know when the plants need more water - except when it empties out occasionally filling the bottom of the pot with water. Most of the globes work well with my plants not sure why it doesn't with a couple of my plants.
Eric K Lund
I bought these for the plants on my patio because I was going on vacation for a week and was afraid the plants would be dead. They did a good job of keeping them moist, but weren't big enough to supply water for the entire week. So when I got back I had very droopy plants. I'm guessing without these, the plants would have been completely dead. So all in all they work as expected. You do have to get them inserted correctly and be sure there is no dirt clogging the tube, otherwise no water comes out. I used a chop stick to put a hole in the dirt before inserting and that worked really well.
DataSpot
This product worked great. My husband and I both went out of town for the week and this worked really well keeping our plant watered while we were gone. It kept the plant alive a week in Texas while it was over 110° all week. So very happy with the purchase.
sleepy_shrimp
The large size was a little too big for my medium-sized house plants, but other than that the globes appear to be working. My thanks to one of the other reviewers who suggested wrapping the globes in either thin plastic or paper towels right before inserting them --- saved me from a big clueless spill!
Carol Costello
The raters who complained about the difficulty filling these clearly never paid any attention in science. They are just fine to fill understanding the requirement to displace the air with water through a small straw like opening. My plants were very happy during my trip and I came home to nothing dead. :DDO note the instructions/advice to saturate the plant before putting these into the soil AND use a bit of mesh, fabric, or even paper towel on the tip to keep dirt from compacting the opening. I used paper towel my first trip and just pushed these in with the paper on the opening, then pulled them back just until bubbles started slowly so I knew the water was able to flow freely.NOTE: When I rinsed these, not the smaller ones, JUST these large ones, in hot water, they developed white spots. I don't care, but if you want the bulbs to stay the pretty blue, don't use hot water!
Prasanna K.
Save water and best used to avoid regular watering, saves lot of time in busy life and away from the plants. Good to have in every pot.
Bahamude
These are ok and work well once you realize you need to put a piece of paper towel on the end as a stopper so the water doesn't just pour out. The other trick is because the necks are so thin you need to be careful not to accidentally break them when they're inserted in the soil. So no sudden sideway movements or you'll break the neck. Their neck fragility is the reason why to me they're a 4 star instead of a 5 star product. But as long as you're careful with them, they're fine.
Anon
They work pretty much the way you'd expect. Only complaint is that dirt will get jammed up I the narrow part, requiring some manipulation with a tooth pick to clean it out every time you refill with water. Pipe clearer would probably work better but I don't have any.Outdoors in southern CA, small planter with these globes, I can get 3-4 days between watering, so it helps us get thru long weekend trips without worrying about watering, but it is stretching it to go 5 days. Your results will probably differ depending on plants, container size and local conditions.I got an orange one and a blue one in the package. The colors don't look great together in the same container; wish I'd gotten two of the same color instead.
TStock
Some people complained about how hard it is to fill these... not sure what the complaints are. If you get your faucet putting out a small stream of water (around pea size) and hold the globe spout at an angle, they fill up in about 10 to 15 seconds.I received these today. I filled it up, pre-poked a hole, and put the globe in. It just rained earlier, so the soil should be in the right condition to start the globe. I'll report back and update the rating soon.
CC
Thsee are very pretty and yes y I do need to soak your plan well aND then put these in place. They last 1 two weeks as well.
Natasha S.
I use these in my plants and they always distribute the perfect amount of water. I have the small ones and the large ones and I'd suggest getting the larger ones. The openings on the small ones make them hard to fill and you'll have to refill constantly. These look great and are everyone always asks about them. They're the perfect solution for someone (me) who always forgets to water the plants. :)
Cat
Bought these to water my outside hanging baskets while I'm at camp for half the week. One you get the hang of not filling the opening up with dirt when you place them in the pot, they do just what they're supposed to.
ragnar
Great product. Very attractive/eye catching. with so many things to do every day these globes make it easy to monitor the water needs of my plants. Since starting to use them my plants are looking so much more alive. They are glass, but treating them gently and with the respect one should have for grass I expect them to last indefinitely. Consider mixing a little liquid fertilizer as needed for your plants health. Using an eye dropper, for example, makes it easy and efficient to pamper you plants and keep you work area clean.
PJ
I bought these for the plants on my patio. We were going on vacation for 3 weeks & had no one to check the plants. In Washington the weather can change pretty fast. I watered them well and then filled and put in the water wizards. It was pretty hot while we were gone. My plants looked great when we returned, all the water was gone in the wizards. They work great.
D.Leigh
I was nervous about ordering these because i read mixed reviews. Some reviews said the water poured out almost immediately. That is because you must FULLY water the plant before inserting the aqua globe. The globe works by pressure, so once your plant starts to dry out, the water dispenses from the globe. Worked great on my plants when i was out of town for an entire week.
NYC Canuck
I have some of these for a large plant that I keep at my office and some of the mini ones for smaller plants at home. With my office plant I can be gone for a week - water the plant, add water to 2 bulbs and the plant will be fine when I get back. At home my plants are near the window so having some extra water when they get thirsty is great for them. The key is to put the Watering Bulbs into the soil on a slant - if you put them straight up and down the water will just run out. Soil will go up a bit into the stem - just use a toothpick or something to loosen it up and the soil will come out. What happens is as the soil dries out it sends oxygen up the stem which will draw the water down into the soil.So you still have to do your regular watering but they are great for making sure the plants don't dry out or if you want to go away for a short time.
Bobby Twain
If you have plants, buy one of theses and gently create a hole down into the pot with your finger,or you might damage the roots. Then put on of these babies in, pack the dirt back around it, and your plants drink as little or as much as they need. Your plants will love them, and you.Just make sure one doesn't have a fracture. All the water pours out if you do. Out of all the ones I have bought only one was fractured. Fill them, put them in, and the water should go down slowly. Keep watch because sometimes they run out quick, so fill them back up when they run out. I always fill them with water that is mixed with plant food. I have accidently over/under watered some of my plants before I bought these. NOT ANYMORE!!!!! Each plant I put one of these on always reacts so positively. Droopy plants perk up, stale ones sprout new leaves. Of course you have to keep your eyes out for parasites. But be careful. I put one of the globes in by just filling it up and putting it in without digging the hole with my finger, and killed the plant, (bummer).I highly recommend these.

We were away for 10 days and the watering mechanism worked well. The soil was a little dry but the plants survived.

One of the bulbs arrived with a cracked tip. Rather then send it back causing shipping fees to the seller, I filed the edge and use it... Works fine and you cant see the broken piece
S. Montrois
my estimated delivery was Feb 28, 2014 yet I received it around Jan. 22, 2014. Love these things especially for vacations but I also have a habit of under/over watering my house plants. I put one of the globes in my spider plant that had started to die when we were gone for 3 weeks and it is returning to a healthy state!! So as long as you check on the water in the globe and refill it when necessary your plants will thrive!!!! And they are very pretty sitting amongst the foliage of the plants especially when the sun shines on them!!!
Roberta M. Lemanski
With these globes I am able to go on vacation and not worry if my plants are getting over-watered or under-watered. Simple to use and easy to see if more water is needed. The only time one broke was because I dropped it. Make sure you DO USE something (such as a wooden spoon handle) to create the chute in the soil before inserting the globe. Also, change globe location if water is running through the soil to the saucer.
Lenny K
These globes were great when I was in the process of moving. Landlird made it possible for me to move my plants into the sunporch 2 weeks earlier. Setting up the aqua globes in each planter, I didn't have to worry about them drying out during that time. The only thing I didn't expect was how top-heavy the smaller planters became with these large bulbs...had to prop them up with the larger planters.
Susan R.
I love these for my bigger plants. They are pretty and functional. I also got some different ones- thinner density types for my small plants. These would have been too heavy. These are though excellent for planters deeper than 4 inches. They water my larger ones for about 10 days
